Amaro Montenegro was created in 1885 by Stanislao Cobianchi. It has been described as a "distillate of the senses" due to the secret recipe of its distillation from 50 different herbs. It has a bittersweet taste with aromas of cherry, orange and spices. Sweet at first and slightly bitter afterwards, with an aftertaste of herbs. It is drunk plain or with ice, as an ingredient in various cocktails, with soft drinks and juices.
